The next match is Sat. Feb 1st at Friendly Hills Middle School

Same line-up as last time. Tom McDermott may be subbing in at board 5. We have a 1-game lead over Farnsworth, but they will have a slightly different lineup this time. Tom and Frank will play the same players, but there will be some new faces on boards 3-5.

Tournament Results

We took a beating in the ratings in the open section - which means 2 things: 1) there are a lot of good players in the Jr High Section. 2) We're not as goo as our ratings would indicate. We need to buckle down and learn more.
Good news is Tom came in 8th place, Magnus got his bronze medal, and Anton earned his bronze medal.

You can play chess almost every Saturday from now until April 12 if you want to! 

Blue are totally optional - go for practice, merit points, and a chance at a trophy.
Red is League Play - We'll field a team of 5 with one alternate who will play. No fees.
Black - Tournaments the school will pay the fee.

Jan 11 Metcalf Jr High - we couldn't get 5 for match play, so you'll play in the open section.
