State Tournament Info

The State Tournament is coming up for those in 5th-6th grade. I've highlighted those eligible in red. We need 4 for a full team. If we have more we only count the top 4 scores.
I'll try to get registration forms to you next Wednesday or you can print them on line from the schoolchess.org website. They must be mailed by April 1 to get the $10 discount.

Way to go team! We finished tied for 8th out of 13 teams. What an improvement over last year when we finished in last place. There were 71 players and we all finished with 2 points. And Aidan earned his bronze medal!

State Championships this Saturday Mar 11

State Championships at Metcalf MS in Burnsville - 35E S to Diffley, W just past Cedar
Show up before 8:30 to register with $20 ($22 if it's your first SCA tournament)
Bring a chess set like the ones at school if you have one, bring $5 for lunch or pack your own.

Heres a progress chart for some of you close to 400. Read it from right to left.
Niko has made steady progress this year. Projection is to make more gains.
Jack was pretty level til this last month when he made a jump
Jaden started at 100 and made steady and rapid progress. He will gain more points this year.
Christian has had a lot of absences, but plays better this year than last.
Jackson has made steady progress and would be over 400 except for recent missed classes.
Torben made strong progress in the fall but has leveled out. Needs work to improve again.
