Not to late to make it to Statewide - Biggest tournament of the year. You've been practicing for one or two years for this! Show up at Breck before 8:00 on Saturday April for a two-day tournament!

To register go to schoolchess.org click on the blue "Statewide tournament" button
Then click on registration form or download registration form.
Fill it out and mail it in with a check. Mail before April 1 or the price goes up.

We're finding out we can't yet compete successfully against experienced players. Many of your opponents have been playing since they were little. Remember I said if your rating is above 400 you have a chance to win a game. So we came in as underdogs in almost all our games. Most of you were quite a bit younger than your opponents. We have a lot of work to do before next year.

Junior High Chess Championships - Metcalf Jr High (take 35E south to Diffley west just past Cedar)
Bring $20 ($22 if this is your first tournament) and $5 - $7 for lunch and snacks.
If you have a set like the ones we use at school, bring it.
We need three or more players for a team.
