The Friendly Hills Middle School Chess Team took home the Top Middle School Chess trophy at the state Middleschool/Jr.High Chess Championship.
Scoring points for the team were 8th grader Sam Pressman, and 6th grader Tom Miranda with 3 points each and 7th graders Alex Pressman and Dan Kies with 2 points, 6th grader Andrew Kies with 2 points and 5th grader Frank Sullivan with 2 points.
My apologies to the team- I didn't notice that there were three other team trophies other than 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. I think with our surge in the last round we may have finished in 4th - we'll have to wait until the results get posted. And Dan - I was right, you guys were ready for the big-time!
